And you won’t change my mind. It’s long , has 4 doors and a hatch. Not sleek like a coupe.

its closer to a sedan.
this, the hatch saab 93's, and the mazda 6. they kinda split the line a little (a lot) between sedan and wagon.

So do I.

The 928 and the Panamera are probably my favorite modern Porsches.

I don’t know, the Panamera is too long to be a coupe and the roof maintains the roof-height along the body.

I know it isn’t a wagon, but it is close to one in my mind.

“Okay, so We’ve got the rear elongated for the engine-”
“What? We aren’t RRing this thing, that’s only for the two doors.”
“You can’t be serious. I already set up the factory with $200M worth of tooling! We can’t change it now!
“Oh, that’s a pickle.”
“No. Actually....it’s a hatchback.”

And that’s how the Panamera’s awful booty was born.

If I had to buy a Porsche, I’d load up a Boxster and order it. The 911 is nice, but I like mid-engined and, if someone thinks I bought it because I can’t afford a 911 - fuck ‘em.

Also, I think the new 911 is a bit boring.

I can’t believe it’s taken this long for more people to come around on the Panamera’s styling. I loved it at the start. And it’s reportedly fantastically fast, so it shouldn’t even matter that much.

Dunno - haven’t driven a 911 since the last year of the air-cooled ones, so I’m no judge. Still, it’s a lot of money to spend on a Beetle (::hunkers down::).

Panamera owner here; it’s a 4S. I bought it because my 2006 Cayenne Turbo was ageing and it really was living up to its PIG nickname in maintenance. The Macan nameplate had just been announced (February 2012) but I didn’t know when it would be out. I ended up choosing the Panamera over another Cayenne because I actually like the look of it and didn’t need the size of an SUV any longer. I can fold the rear seats down and fit all that my heart desires in the back and still have a more connected driving experience. For me, it acts more like a 2 door car with lots of space since I don’t have to carry people in my back seats anymore. It is time for a new car next year and I am already configuring my Macan. The Panameras depreciated a lot more quickly than the Cayennes of similar vintage but it came down to me wanting a more fun but still practical car at the time of purchase. Now I have a second, more fun car, so I don’t see the need it outfitting my next Porsche with as many of the performance goodies, which really drove up the price of my Panamera.

EWWWWWWW I am offended on behalf of wagon-lovers everywhere. It needs a more squared-off profile for it to be a real wagon. It’s more akin to an Accord CrossTour that drives better.

The Panamera is what happens when a quack back-alley doctor injects cement into an otherwise okay hatchback’s buttocks.
